What have we ever done to deserve dogs?
I lost my dog to cancer a couple of months ago,
And I just now realize how much she meant to me and my family.
She never had to be there for me when I when I was sad or sick.
It wasn't her job to lay with me when I went to bed,
To chase my nightmares away, when I couldn't sleep, she was there.
When I needed someone to play with she was there.
I just want my friend back,
I wasn't there when she needed me.
I wasn't there when she was sad, I didn't deserve her.
I'll never let it go how I lost my best friend, she lost the battle,
we did everything we could do, but we ran out of time. I'll never see her again. I loved her.
And I can't now,
Because I left her in Ohio far from where we are now.
I'll never get her back,
Because I've lost her
I've lost my best friend to cancer

The reason we deserve Dogs is like we deserve cats, they show us companionship, and give us the feeling of we're not alone. This post almost made me cry, and worry about my own dog sooner or later.... 😭

That's really sad story. I have a dog and he is old. I don't want to let him go. My dog was always there when I nead him. Dogs are my favorite animal.

I can definitely relate to this. My dog died a few years back and I have literally known him my whole life. I'm talking ever since i was a baby and even before that. So I can definitely see were you're coming from with this. I am very sorry for you're loss. I have a cat who sleeps with me almost every night and I cant imagine losing her. Again I am so sorry that you lost something so special to you.
I love what you wrote because it means that we care for our pets (dogs) because they are just like us they are always happy around us but we aren’t always happy around them and i think that they just want to love us just as much as we love them.
